Balance Houston Fertility Preparation Process To Boost Your Fertility Naturally
It takes approximately 90 days for eggs and sperm to develop. To give you the best chance of successful conception, we have developed a 12-14 week individualized fertility preparation program. Ideally this program is designed to be implemented prior to conception or before fertility treatments. This allows time for the powerful combination of acupuncture, supplements, custom herbal formulas, diet, and lifestyle modifications to nourish your body and produce better quality eggs or sperm.
However, we know that it is not always possible and we will support you at any point in your fertility journey.
At the first appointment, we will go over your medical history and formulate an individualized treatment plan for you. The treatment plan will include frequency of treatments, typically once a week unless otherwise specified, supplements, custom herbal formulas, diet, and sometimes lifestyle modifications.
Ideal Timing For Acupuncture Treatments
Treatment 1: During the period to help discharge old tissue and regulate qi and blood.
Treatment 2: During the follicular phase, to encourage follicular and endometrial growth. This is the time to Nourish yin, blood, and fill the chong channel.
Treatment 3: Around the time of Ovulation to promote healthy ovulation. At the time of ovulation, yin changes to yang. Qi and blood needs to be tonified and regulated to provide ample energy for a smooth transition from the yin phase into the yang phase of the menstrual cycle.
Treatment 4: During the Luteal to support and warm the yang or in other words, support production of progesterone.
Supplements

Diagnosis to determine which supplements, if any, would be most beneficial to you in your fertility journey. We use Fullscript to streamline this process. You will receive your supplement recommendations in Fullscript via an email.
We encourage you to bring any recent lab work.
Custom Herbal Formulas
Herbal Medicine is one of the Five Pillars of Chinese Medicine and has been in use for more than 2,500 years. Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal formulas are carefully crafted combinations of various medicinal herbs, each chosen for its specific therapeutic properties and interactions, with the aim of restoring balance and promoting health within the body.
Chinese herbal formulas are rooted in the principles of TCM, which emphasize the balance between opposing forces known as Yin and Yang, as well as the flow of vital energy called Qi throughout the body’s meridian pathways. By using herbs that have distinct flavors, temperatures, and energetic properties, We create formulas tailored to an individual’s unique pattern of disharmony.
Herbs in these formulas often work synergistically to address multiple aspects of a health condition. In respect to fertility and more familiar biomedical terms, herbal formulas can be used to address hormonal imbalances, luteal phase defect, low AMH, PCOS, small fibroids, and inflammatory conditions like endometriosis just to name a few. Chinese herbal formulas are typically administered in various forms, such as granule teas or in capsules according to your preference.
One of the distinctive features of Chinese herbal formulas is the holistic approach, aiming to address the root causes of imbalances rather than just alleviating symptoms. We conduct thorough diagnostic assessments, including pulse and tongue examination, to identify the underlying patterns of disharmony before prescribing a suitable herbal formula.
Nutrition
Preconception is a powerful time for both men and women to make a real impact on sperm and egg health. Starting your fertility preparation 12-14 weeks before conception can truly improve the outcome for a successful pregnancy, birth, and health of your baby for the rest of their life.
How we nourish ourselves before and during pregnancy can have lifelong metabolic changes and risk for diseases- for better or worse.
Some key things to consider for nutrition in the preconception phase are including enough of the right foods and avoiding problematic foods.
For instance, Are you eating the right kind and amount of protein to meet your needs?
What types of fats are best for reproductive health and what types are harmful?
And the question every future or expectant mother wonders about ? Which prenatal vitamin is the best ? What makes one prenatal better than another?
If you would like to delve further into your nutrition and discover the answers to the above questions, the Registered Dietician we partner with has answers for you. She is available Via zoom consult.

Celluma
Celluma is an FDA approved light emitting diode therapy also known as phototherapy which can be used for fertility purposes to increase ATP production in egg cells, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and improve the lining.
Ovum ( female egg cell ) have 200 times more mitochondria than any other cell. Research indicates that mitochondria in older women’s eggs become less efficient at producing ATP.
Researchers think this is the reason for decreased fertility in women as they age. Researchers believe red light therapy displaces nitric oxide, allowing more oxygen to saturate cells. This leads to increased ATP production, improved blood flow to reproductive organs, improved regulation of inflammation, and softening of scar tissue. Additionally, research indicates light therapy can also increase testosterone levels and sperm quality.
The celluma panel is placed over the abdomen during an acupuncture treatment for approximately 30 minutes while the patient relaxes on the table.
Lifestyle Modifications
Lifestyle modifications are intentional changes individuals make to their daily habits, behaviors, and routines in order to improve their overall well-being, health, and quality of life. These changes often involve adopting healthier habits and practices that can have a positive impact on physical, mental, and emotional health.Common areas where lifestyle modifications are often recommended are sleep, physical activity, nutrition, environment, and stress.
Lifestyle modifications are often recommended as part of a comprehensive approach to boosting overall health which will positively impact reproductive health. They are tailored to your specific needs, goals, and circumstances. While making significant changes to your lifestyle can be challenging, even small, gradual adjustments have a meaningful impact on overall health and well-being over time.
